My Clinical Background

Kathleen Cesarin – A Life of Healing, Learning & Service

With 25+ years of experience spanning nursing, social work, business, and education, my journey has been diverse—from emergency rooms and surgical settings to founding healthcare initiatives and leading humanitarian efforts. Specializing in orthopedics, wound care, foot care, and immunization, my true passion lies in the human connection behind every act of care.

As an entrepreneur, I’ve founded healthcare clinics, community programs, and advocacy initiatives. My experience as a foster parent to over 60 children has shaped my deep understanding of resilience, compassion, and healing.

A lifelong learner, I hold honors in nursing, human services administration, marketing, and curriculum development, and I’ve shaped future healthcare professionals as an instructor and mentor. My journey into Reiki-Biofield Energy and Indigenous medicine—under the guidance of a respected Elder—has deepened my understanding of the mind-body-spirit connection.

Through it all, I remain a nurse in good standing with the CLPNA since 2008, committed to helping others find balance, growth, and self-love in the way that is meant for them.

My mission: To inspire healing, transformation, and resilience, in whatever ways of wisdom resonate with you.

My Life & Coaching Philosophy

The parable of The Blind Men and an Elephant describes a group of blind men encountering an elephant for the first time. Each touches a different part—such as the trunk, tusk, ear, or leg—and forms a distinct understanding of what the elephant is like. Their conflicting descriptions lead to disagreement, as each believes his perspective is the absolute truth.

In a spiritual context, the elephant represents God, divine truth, or ultimate reality. Each blind man’s perception mirrors how different religions, philosophies, and individuals grasp aspects of the divine. If one insists that their understanding is the only truth, they ignore the vastness of the divine and hinder unity and deeper insight.

By recognizing our own limitations, respecting others' experiences, and seeking wisdom beyond our own, we move closer to true understanding—whether of faith, life, or the universe itself.

Seeing Through the Eyes of the Elephant

From the moment I first heard the parable of The Blind Men and the Elephant as a child, it resonated with me in a way few stories ever have. It wasn’t just a metaphor about perspective—it was a guiding principle, a way of seeing and understanding the world that has shaped my journey in relationships, healthcare, education, and spirituality.

Each of us, in our own way, is like one of the blind men, reaching out and grasping only a part of the whole. At different times in my life, I’ve found myself holding onto a single "truth," believing I understood something fully, as I was taught—whether it was my Christian concept of God or my medical knowledge. But time and experience have humbled me. The more I learn, the more I realize how much more there is to see.

I have come to believe that no single belief system, philosophy, or healing practice holds the entire answer. Whether in healthcare or spirituality, when we operate in silos—addressing only symptoms, only the body, only the mind, or only the soul, only one set of teachings—we fail to see the human being in their wholeness. We treat the leg but ignore the heart. We see the ear but dismiss the breath. We attempt to "fix" something singular, forgetting that nothing truly exists in isolation.

This realization didn’t come easily. Like many, I was taught a specific way of seeing the world, a belief system that offered rigid lines between right and wrong, truth and falsehood. Yet, something inside me always urged me to seek—to remove the blindfold and look beyond the limitations of what I had been handed and taught. At times, this search filled me with fear. Fear of judgment, fear of rejection - by others, by God - of stepping outside the boundaries of what was expected. But what I found when I allowed myself to explore was not contradiction - but connection, not judgement - but grace. There is wisdom in all teachings, all disciplines, all perspectives. There is love and good intention at the heart of most beliefs.

Perhaps the greatest lesson of the parable is this: True understanding comes not from clinging to a single viewpoint but from seeking the higher wisdom that exists beyond our limited grasp. The elephant—the great whole—sees all perspectives, holds all truths, loves all and does not judge the blind men for their limited understanding. It is from that higher view that we find compassion—not just for others, but for ourselves as we fumble through life, each of us grasping at pieces of something far greater than we can comprehend. The good news is - that Higher Power is always within us and around us - always ready and willing to share wisdom, guidance and healing with us - when are ready and willing to ask.

This journey of seeking, of savoring wisdom with an open heart, is one I am committed to for life. It is my passion to share this healing, this joy, this deeper perspective with those who seek it, those who are ready to remove the blindfold and look beyond the part they have always known.

Because when we learn to see ourselves and others through the eyes of the elephant—through the eyes of the whole—we find not just knowledge, but truth. Not just understanding, but love. And not just healing, but wholeness.

Understanding Helping Professions

What’s the difference between a therapist and a life coach? I came across a great analogy that compares various helping professions using the example of learning to drive a car:

🌿A therapist helps you uncover what’s preventing you from getting behind the wheel.

🌿A counselor provides a safe space to express and process your fears about driving.

🌿A mentor shares wisdom and insights from their own experiences with driving.

🌿A consultant offers expert advice on the best techniques and strategies for driving.

🌿A coach empowers, supports, and motivates you to take action and drive with confidence.

As a licensed Nurse, Wellness Coach, and Reiki II (Holy Fire III) practitioner, I am not a therapist or counselor, but I do seek—through my experience, intuition, and divine guidance—to help you remove barriers, offer a safe space to share your obstacles and feelings, and I openly share my personal insights.

My role is to support you in your journey toward healing and wholeness, integrating mind, body, and soul so that you can move forward with clarity, confidence, and balance.

A Sojourner’s Story

Philosophia (from philia: 'love' + sophia: 'wisdom'): 'the love or eager pursuit of wisdom or knowledge

My Journey: From Struggle to Strength

From a young age, I sought solace in nature, feeling closest to the Creator beneath the open sky. Growing up in a broken, dysfunctional family, I carried the weight of unresolved pain, yet something deep inside me knew there was more—something waiting to be uncovered.

The Awakening

At 17, my spiritual awakening began, revealing a difficult truth:
💡 I was the only one responsible for my struggles—but I also held the power to change them.

This realization ignited my lifelong journey inward, peeling back the layers of who I thought I was to uncover my true self. Though tumultuous, this path of self-discovery became the most rewarding pursuit of my life.

Love, Purpose & Growth

Marriage and motherhood arrived swiftly, bringing me love, acceptance, and a renewed purpose. Through my three children, I glimpsed the life I wanted to create, fueling my passion for health and wellness—not just for them, but for myself and others.

Life’s trials led me to pursue higher education in nursing as a single mother in my early thirties, deepening my reverence for the miracle and interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. It also forced me to confront my own past traumas and survival mechanisms that no longer served me.

Healing & Transformation

Through personal and professional obstacles—divorce, remarriage, and an ongoing search for healing—I explored the Christian faith, alternative therapies, and diverse spiritual teachings.

Each step led me to deeper self-love, forgiveness, and transformation. Like the metamorphosis of a butterfly, I shed layers of fears, oppressions, and anxiety, emerging with a renewed sense of freedom and peace.

🌿Love, in all its forms—divine, self, and shared—has been the guiding force through it all.

Standing in Love

I no longer carry shame, guilt, or embarrassment about my past, and it no longer defines me. As a mother of three wonderful adult children and now a grandmother, I share my story openly because I know that others need to hear it—to find courage, to reclaim their voice, and step into their own power - to learn that crises are not meant to break us—they are opportunities to grow, heal, and transform.
